- Matt Lydum PhD researches, writes and
teaches developmentally appropriate track & field coaching methods. He is
the project writer for the Human Kinetics text “Coaching Youth Track &
Field” and serves as Director of the USATF Level 2 - Youth Specialization
program. He has represented the USOC at the International Olympic Academy
and has twice served on the Team USA Staff for the IAAF World Youth
Championships. An active youth coach and previous college coach at San
Francisco State University and Defiance College in Ohio, he has coached
numerous All-Americans, school-record holders, and other champions at the
youth, high school, and college levels.
- David Pavlansky was the head boys' track and cross
country coach at Boardman High School from 1999 –2011. Twice named OAT&CCC
District 1 Boys' Track Coach of the Year, Dave received the 2007 Fred
Daffler State Coach of the Year Award for Boys' Cross Country. In 2007 he
was among 10 sprint coaches selected nationwide by USATF to attend the
Emerging Elite Coaches' Camp in Orlando, Florida. During Dave’s tenure
Boardman teams produced numerous All-Ohio athletes, Indoor and Outdoor state
champions, as well as two Nike All-Americans. Dave has USATF Level 2
certifications in Jumps, Endurance, and Sprints / Hurdles / Relays and he
currently serves as USATF Regional Coordinator of Coaching Education for the
Midwest and Upper East Coast.
- Larry Judge PhD, C.S.C.S., is an Assistant Professor of
Physical Education and coordinator of the graduate coaching program at Ball
State University. He has 18 years of Division I coaching experience with
Indiana State University, the University of South Carolina, the University
of Wyoming and the University of Florida. He is currently the USA Track &
Field national chairman for coaching education. He is also a Level III
instructor in the International Association of Athletics Federation's (IAAF)
coaching education program. He has coached more than 100 NCAA Division I
All-Americans, including eight Olympians.
