$150.00 - Pre-registration (received by midnight (EST) June 13, 2014)
$200.00 - Late Registration (received after midnight (EST) June 13, 2014 or on-site)
$75 - Alumni pricing is for those who have already taken and successfully completed the Level 1 Course. Please contact shayna.sangster@usatf.org to verify alumni status and register for the course.

Refund policy: Only 1/2 of the registration fee ($75.00) will be refunded after the registration deadline, and no refund will be given after the start date.

Directions

From the East: Take 1-80W toward Wisconsin/Iowa/IL-83. Merge onto I-355 N/Veterans Memorial Tollway via Exit 140 toward West Suburbs. Take the Maple Ave. exit. Keep left to take the ramp toward Lisle/Naperville. Turn left onto Maple Ave. Turn left onto College Rd.  5700 College Road is on the right.

From the West: Take I-88 East to and exit toward Naperville Rd.  Turn right onto Freedom Drive and then left onto E. Diehl Rd. Turn right onto N. Naperville Rd./N. Naper Blvd/ N. Naperville Wheaton Rd. and continue to follow N. Naper Rd. Turn left onto Maple and right onto College.  5700 College Rd. is on the right.

From the South: Take I-65 N toward Chicago. Merge onto I-80 W/I-94 W/US-6 W via Exit 259A toward Chicago. Keep left to tak I-80 W toward Wisconsin-Iowa/IL-83/Torrence Ave.  . Merge onto I-355 N/Veterans Memorial Tollway via Exit 140 toward West Suburbs. Take the Maple Ave. exit. Keep left to take the ramp toward Lisle/Naperville. Turn left onto Maple Ave. Turn left onto College Rd.  5700 College Road is on the right.  

Birck Hall (listed as Building #3 on the map) is located just inside the main entrance to campus. Parking is available in the lot just south of the building or in the parking garage (#19 on the map).

Instructors

  • Matt Lydum, PhD researches, writes, and teaches on issues related to human performance with a focus on educating coaches to provide developmentally appropriate experiences. He is Level 2 certified in Throws, Jumps, Combined Events and Sprints, Hurdles, & Relays. He is the project writer for the Human Kinetics text Coaching Youth Track & Field and serves as Director of the USATF Level 2 – Youth Specialization Course. He served on the Team USA Coaching Staff for the 2007 & 2009 IAAF World Youth Championships. Lydum was the 1998 USOC delegate for the International Olympic Academy and has coached numerous All-Americans at the small college and youth levels.
  • David Pavlansky was the head boys' track and cross country coach at Boardman High School from 1999 –2011.  Twice named OAT&CCC District 1 Boys' Track Coach of the Year, Dave received the 2007 Fred Daffler State Coach of the Year Award for Boys' Cross Country.  In 2007 he was among 10 sprint coaches selected nationwide by the USATF to attend the Emerging Elite Coaches' School in Orlando, Florida.  During Dave’s tenure Boardman teams produced numerous All-Ohio athletes, Indoor and Outdoor state champions, as well as two Nike All-Americans.  Dave has USATF Level 2 certifications in Jumps, Endurance, and Sprints / Hurdles / Relays and he currently serves as USATF Regional Coordinator of Coaching Education for the Midwest and Upper East Coast.
  • Toni Carmichael, MA Education, teaches science at the middle school level.  She has been involved in track and field since 1976 as an athlete or coach. Toni is IAAF Level 5 and  USATF Level 3 certified in Jumps, and USATF Level 2 certified in Sprints, Hurdles, Relays, and Combined Events.  She has coached an Illinois high school state champion in pole vault, and coached many state qualifying athletes in pole vault, high jump, hurdles, and 800m.  Many of her athletes have become All-Americans and national qualifiers in the heptathlon, pole vault, high jump, 800m, 1500m, and 4x800m at the USATF club level.  She is currently the jumps specialist coach at North Park University in Chicago while continuing to teach and coach at the club level.
