From Pasadena and the San Fernando Valley: Take I-210 east to Towne Exit. Turn right (south) to Foothill Boulevard. Turn left onto Foothill Boulevard. Turn right onto Claremont Boulevard. Turn right onto Ninth Street. The Pitzer visitor parking lot will be directly on your right (East Mesa parking lot).

From I-10 (San Bernardino Freeway): Exit on Indian Hill Boulevard going north (towards the mountains) for about 2 miles. Turn right onto Foothill Boulevard. Turn right onto Claremont Boulevard, which is the third stoplight. Turn right onto Ninth Street. The Pitzer visitor parking lot will be directly on your right (East Mesa parking lot).

Instructors

  • Dr. Tony Boston is an Assistant Professor and the Menís Head cross country and track and field coach for the Pomona-Pitzer Colleges.  Dr. Boston has held the title of Head Coach at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (NY), Whittier College (CA), and El Monte HS (CA).  A versatile coach, Boston has successfully mentored NCAA qualifiers in cross country, high jump, triple jump, hurdles, 4X400m and the middle and long distance events. The former biology teacher holds USATF Level 2 Certifications in the Sprints/Hurdles/Relays, Endurance Events, and the Jumps.  He has earned a personal training certification from the American College of Sports Medicine and recently earned his doctorate in health education and promotion.
  • Tony Veney is currently the Head Track Coach at Ventura Community College. He was the former director of the menís and womenís track and field and cross country programs at North Carolina A&T. In 11 seasons at Cal State Northridge, Veney coached three NCAA National Champions, 33 NCAA All-Americans and 15 conference champions. As Director of Men and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Coach for Portland State, Veney coached the school's first Division-I Regional qualifiers (Triple Jump, Long Jump, High Jump, 100 meters, 400 meters, and 400 Hurdles) and national qualifier (High Jump). While at UCLA (2003-09), Veney led fifteen Bruins to either indoor or outdoor All-American status, coached six Pac-10 Champions and four NCAA West Regional Champions. He is a USATF Level 1, 2 and 3 Clinician and certified USATF Master of Coaching. From 1988-2003 he was the clinician for USATF Junior Elite Women's Sprints and Hurdles.
  • Troy Johnson is currently the Head Coach of Track and field at Cal State Stanislaus. He was formerly the Head Cross Country and Track and Field Coach at Cal Poly Pomona. In this capacity, he successfully directed the menís and womenís programs to new heightsóproducing 6 NCAA All Americans. Prior to Cal Poly Pomona, Johnson spent seven years as a highly successful assistant coach at Cal State Stanislaus where he helped guide athletes to 31 NCAA qualifying marks, and 11 NCAA DII All-Americans. He is a USATF Level 1 instructor and is a USATF Level 2 Coach in the areas of Endurance, Jumps and Sprints/Hurdles & Relays. As an athlete, Johnson earned a provisional qualifying time in the 400-meter hurdles for the 1996 U.S. Olympic Trials.
