- Matt Lydum, PhD, researches, writes, and teaches on
issues related to human performance with a focus on educating coaches to
provide developmentally appropriate experiences. He is Level 2 certified in
Throws, Jumps, Combined Events and Sprints, Hurdles, & Relays. He is the
project writer for the Human Kinetics text Coaching Youth Track & Field and
serves as Director of the USATF Level 2 – Youth Specialization Course. He
served on the Team USA Coaching Staff for the 2007 & 2009 IAAF World Youth
Championships. Lydum was the 1998 USOC delegate for the International
Olympic Academy and has coached numerous All-Americans at the small college
and youth levels.
- Larry Judge, Ph.D., C.S.C.S., is an associate professor
of physical education and coordinator of the graduate coaching program at
Ball State University. He has 18 years of Division I coaching experience
with Indiana State University, the University of South Carolina, the
University of Wyoming and the University of Florida. He is currently the USA
Track & Field national chairman for coaching education. He is also an
instructor in the International Association of Athletics Federation's (IAAF)
coaching education program. He has coached more than 100 NCAA Division I
All-Americans, including eight Olympians. He recently coached Jeremy
Campbell to a gold medal in the F44 discus in the 2013 World Championships
and 2012 Paralympic Games.
- Ed Christy is IAAF Level 5 certified
in Sprints, Hurdles, and Relays, USATF Level 3 in Sprints, Hurdles, and
Relays and has a USATF Level 2 certification in Endurance. His Master's work
was in exercise physiology and sports psychology. He has been coaching for
over 35 years. He came from a swimming background where he coached 3 podium
placers in the 1976 Montreal Olympics and was also on the coaching team for
the world record Catalina Channel swim in 1976. He is an age group USATF All
American and is nationally ranked in USATF trail running.
