Instructors
- Andrew Allden is the School Director & Endurance
Instructor. He is a Level 1 and 2 Endurance Instructor and has 18 years
experience as Division I Coach. He was selected as the 2003 Southeast Men’s
Coach of the Year and coached the 2001 Division I Men’s 800m Champion.
- Matt Lydum is assistant professor of physical education
and field events coach at Defiance College in Northwest Ohio. He is an
active researcher, writer, teacher, and administrator on issues related to
youth in sport. As School Director of the USATF Youth Level 2 Program, USOC
Delegate to the International Olympic Academy, and project writer for the
Human Kinetics publication of the book Coaching Youth Track & Field, he
seeks to expand access to coaching education and promote physical activity
opportunities for children.
- Dave Pavlansky was the Head Boys' Track and Cross
Country Coach at Boardman High School from 1999 - 2010. Dave began his
career coaching high school and collegiate football (Miami, OH/Youngstown
State). Twice named OAT&CCC District 1 Boys' Track Coach of the Year, Dave
received the 2007 Fred Daffler State Coach of the Year Award for Boys' Cross
Country. Dave has worked a decade with Ohio's Midwest Meet of Champions
team, serving in all capacities from men's assistant coach to state
coordinator. In 2007 he was among 10 sprint coaches selected nationwide by
the USATF to attend their Emerging Elite Coaches' School in Orlando,
Florida. Boardman's teams have produced both Indoor and Outdoor state
champions as well as two Nike All-Americans. Dave has completed the USATF
Level 2 programs in Jumps, Endurance, and Sprints / Hurdles / Relays.
