Instructors
- Neil Fitzgerald is the PS-9 School Director and Sprints
Instructor. A Level 2 Coach in the sprints, Endurance and Youth events,
Fitzgerald brings a wealth of knowledge to the program. He also continues to
compete in the sport at the Masters level, winning World Masters titles in
the 800m and 4x400m relay.
- Fred Benlein, C.S.C.S., HFS is a USATF Level 3
Endurance Coach and a USATF Level 2 Sprints/Hurdles Coach. He has been a
coach for 29 years of high school, collegiate, professional, post
collegiate, masters and disabled athletes from entry level to national
level. He has owned his own business for 18 years as an LDR/Track & Field
Coach and Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He is currently the Head
Men’s and Woman’s Cross Country Coach at New York Institute of Technology.
- Kevin McGill is the Throws Instructor for the PS-9
Level 1 School. He is a co-founder of the USATF Coaching Education Program
and co-author of the Throws Manual. He has been named an IAAF “Official
Lecturer” for throwing events and has over 40 years of coaching experience.
- Jonathan Hill works with the jumpers and multis at West
Point. He has Level 2 certificates in the Jumps, Sprints/Hurdles/Relays, and
Combined Events. While at Eastern Washington University, he chaired Coaching
Education for the Inland NW region. Hill helped athletes to 24 All-Big Sky
performances and 12 individual school records as well as three OSAA
Champions and 17 All-State awards.
