Refund policy: Only 1/2 of the registration fee ($62.50) will be
refunded after the registration deadline, and no refund will be given after the
start date.
Directions
From the North (Detroit, Michigan - 2 hours) and from (Toledo, Ohio - 1
hour): I-75 South. At Exit 204 take right ramp onto I-475 South to
Toledo. At Exit 4B (Waterville/Napoleon exit), follow US 24 West to SR 66 South
Exit in Defiance (North Clinton Street). Left at traffic light. At the 6th
traffic light turn left on Sessions Ave.
From the South (Dayton, Ohio - 2 hours): I-75 North to Lima.
Take the Bluelick Road Exit 130 and turn left. Follow Bluelick Road to SR 65
North and turn right. Follow SR 65 North to SR 115 North (branches off to the
left). Take SR 115 North through Kalida to SR 15 North to Defiance. Follow SR
15/18 through town (left on East Second Street, right on Clinton Street). Turn
right at the 4th traffic light on to Sessions Avenue.
From the West (Ft. Wayne, Indiana - 1 hour): US 24 East to SR
15 South exit (Ralston Ave). Continue straight on to Sessions Avenue.
From Cleveland, Ohio (approx. 3 hours): I-80/90 (Ohio
Turnpike) West to Exit 64 to I-75 (Dayton) ramp in Toledo, Ohio. Take right ramp
onto I-475 North. At Exit 4B (Waterville/Napoleon exit), follow US 24 West to SR
66 South Exit in Defiance (North Clinton Street). Left at traffic light. At the
6th traffic light turn left on Sessions Avenue.

Instructors
- Dr. Matt Lydum is assistant professor of physical
education and field events coach at Defiance College in Northwest Ohio. He
is an active researcher, writer, teacher, and administrator on issues
related to youth in sport. As School Director of the USATF Youth Level 2
Program, USOC Delegate to the International Olympic Academy, and project
writer for the Human Kinetics publication of the book Coaching Youth Track &
Field, he seeks to expand access to coaching education and promote physical
activity opportunities for children.
- David Pavlansky has been the Head
Boys' Track and Cross Country Coach at Boardman High School since 1999.
Twice named OAT&CCC District 1 Boys' Coach of the Year, Dave received the
2007 Fred Daffler State Coach of the Year Award for Boys' Cross Country. In
2007 he was among 10 sprint coaches selected nationwide by the USATF to
attend their Emerging Elite Coaches' School in Orlando, Florida. Dave has
completed the USATF Level 2 programs in Jumps, Endurance, and
Sprints/Hurdles/Relays.
- Joe Burgireno has spent eight seasons
as head coach of Romulus High School with his team placing in the top 20 at
the State Meet six of those eight years. Prior to Romulus, he also spent
two years coaching girls' pole vault for Ann Arbor Pioneer. He has coached
one relay and three individuals to state championships and has been a three
time finalist for MITCA's D1 Boys Coach of the Year. Joe is also USATF
Level 2 Coach in sprints/hurdles/relays, jumps and throws.
- John Hartpence has coached All
Americans, school record holders, All Ohio athletes and conference champions
in his 4 years as the Head Coach at Dickerson College. As the head track
coach at DC his teams won multiple team conference championships and Coach
Hartpence has won numerous coach of the year honors. He is a Level 2 Coach
in endurance, jumps, sprints, and throws.
