Pomona College is located in Claremont, California, 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles and is easily accessible by car, plane, or rail.  Lectures will be held in the Smith Campus Center.

Except from Pasadena or the San Fernando Valley, take Interstate 10 to Indian Hill Boulevard, Exit 47. From Orange County, take the Orange Freeway (Route 57) to I-10 east. From the Long Beach area, take the San Gabriel River Freeway (I-605) or the Long Beach Freeway (I-710) to I-10 east. From Ontario airport or the Inland Empire, take I-10 west to the Indian Hill exit.

Exit at Indian Hill Boulevard, drive north about one mile to 1st Street and turn right onto 1st. Take 1st to College Avenue and turn left. Proceed on College Avenue and turn right at 6th Street. The Smith Campus Center is located on the corner of 6th and College Way.

From Pasadena and the San Fernando Valley, take the Foothill (210) Freeway east to Towne Avenue. Turn right onto Towne, traveling south until reaching Foothill Boulevard. Turn left onto Foothill. Travel east on Foothill to Indian Hill Boulevard, turn right, and proceed south eight blocks to 6th Street. The Smith Campus Center is located on the corner of 6th and College Way.

Instructors

  • Tony Boston - Boston is currently serving as the Men’s Head Coach for the Pomona-Pitzer Colleges.   Boston has held the title of head coach at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (NY) and Whittier College (CA).  A versatile coach, Boston has produced NCAA qualifiers in cross country, high jump, triple jump, relays, and the middle/long distances. The former HS Coach and Biology teacher is a USATF Level 2 Coach in the Sprints/Hurdles/Relays and Jumps.  He is currently pursuing his doctorate in health education.
  • Doug Todd - The 5-time Community College Coach of the Year, is the Director of Cross Country/Track & Field at Mt. San Antonio Community College.  In the role, he oversees the renowned Mt. SAC Relays, Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational, LA84 Foundation/Mt. SAC Relays Youth Days Program and Footlocker West Regional Cross Country Championships. The coach of 31 Conference Championship and 17 State Championship teams is a USATF Level 2 Coach in the horizontal and vertical jumps.
  • Jennifer Tuff - Tuff has coached High School Track in Long Beach for the past 6 years. She has worked with all event groups over that time but specialized in helping the distance and middle distance runners on Cabrillo High School's track and cross-country teams. This highly experienced Level 1 Instructor is also a USATF Level 2 Coach in both the Throwing and Endurance event groups.
  • Tony Veney - Currently an assistant coach at UCLA.  This coach, clinician and author has coached over 25 NCAA Div. I and II All-Americans.  His talent for developing athletes has earned him spots on national/international coaching staffs. He has long been involved with USA Track and Field and in 1999; he assumed the position of Women's Sprint Development Chair. A USATF Level 1, 2 and 3 Clinician, Veney has produced two sprint and hurdles training videos and has written two sprint and hurdles training manuals.
