The Akron/Canton Airport is 20 minutes away; the Cleveland Airport is 45
minutes away.
Amtrak runs right to the University.

Instructors
- K.O. Jackson: An award-winning journalist, actor, radio,
broadcaster, and track and field coach. He has twice been named as
assistant coach for International Sports Tours, and twice served as head
coach. During his 14-year coaching career, he has had athletes in the
state championship -- Kentucky and Ohio -- every year but three times.
He has coached one state champion and several state placers.
Furthermore, K.O.'s track and field teams have been nationally ranked,
and he has had seven National qualifiers. 46 of his student-athletes
have earned Division I track-and-field scholarships.
- Dave Bellar: The coach of the St. Peter Chanel Firebird Track and
Cross-Country teams, Coach Bellar is entering his fourth season as the
head coach for the combined programs. During the 2004 track season,
Coach Bellar led the Lady Firebirds track squad to a 3rd place finish
overall at the Division III State Track and Field Championship. Coach
Bellar has earned Level 2 certificates of completion from USATF in three areas, and
is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA.
- Matt Lydum: Coaches track and teaches sports science at Defiance
College. Formerly the head coach at San Francisco State University, he
has been a Level 1 instructor at USATF schools in Northern and Southern
California, New Mexico, Arizona, and Ohio. He has earned Level 2
certificates of completion in
jumps, throws, and sprints/hurdles/relays. Lydum was NCAA West Regional
Coach of the Year and USOC Delegate to the International Olympic Academy
in 1998, and he has coached numerous Division II and NAIA All-Americans.
