Mountain/Ultra/Trail

Athlete Profile Criteria

In addition to being a current member of USATF, an athlete must satisfy one or more of the following:

  • Athlete has at least one win in a major mountain, ultra, or trail race within past three years (Masters and age-group wins included).
  • Athlete has raced on a USATF-sanctioned national team within the last two years.
  • Athlete has at least one major trail record or "FKT" (Fastest Known Time) on a major trail (e.g., John Muir Trail, Appalachian Trail, etc.).
  • Athlete has placed in top three in USATF Mountain/Ultra/Trail Championship within the last three years.
  • Athlete has broken an American or World mountain, ultra, or trail-running record (Masters and age-group records included).
