2010 Coaching Enhancement Grants

USATF is pleased to offer the following grants for the 2010 year to assist coaches in opportunities to enhance their professional growth.  An application within the stated timeline is required of interested candidates and sent to Terry Crawford , Director of Coaching, terry.crawford@usatf.org.

1.    World Junior Championships Seminar and Tutorial, Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, July 19-25: in conjunction with the World Junior Championships, week of classroom and onsite tutorial of the World Junior Championships, for more information,  2010wjcoachingseminar@athletics.ca. Application Deadline, June 11, 2010

Grant: four $1500 grants are available to cover tuition and fees, housing, partial meals, credential to WJC, travel is not included.

Criteria:

  1. A coach cannot have an athlete competing in the World Junior Championships (to avoid conflict of time/interest)   

  2. A current coach who is either a head High School Coach for 5 years or a College assistant coach for minimum of 5 years.

  3. Has coached an athlete at the Junior or Senior US Outdoor Championships in the last five years.

  4. Preferred but not required, Level 2 Coaching Education certificate.

  5. Member of the USATF Coaches Registry

2.    NACACTFCA  Congress, Houston , Texas., Oct. 14-17, 2010, more information and list of speakers: http://nacactfca.org

Grants: Six (6) $500 grants are available to cover expenses.  Deadline for application: August 1, 2010

Criteria:

  1. Member of the USATF Coaches Registry

  2. Level 2 Coaching Certificate required

  3. Current high school, college, or professional elite coach

  4. Application that includes a half page philosophical statement on career goals.

3.    Podium Education Project, December 1, 2010, Virginia Beach, Virginia, in conjunction with USATF Annual Meeting, December 2-4, 2010. For hotel information go to http://usatf.org/annualmeeting

Grants: Six (6) $500 grants towards travel expenses. Deadline for application:  September 1, 2010.

Criteria:

  1. Member of the USATF Coaches Registry

  2. Level 2 Coaching Education certificate

  3. Current Coach at high school or college, professional level.

  4. Application that includes a half page philosophical statement on career goals.
