2007 National Podium Education Project
Hurdle Session
December 13-15, 2007

Program Information

USATF presents the 2007 National Podium Education Project Hurdle Session. The NPEP Hurdle Session will be held December 13-15, 2007 at The Tuscany Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. Come join the coaches of the top elite athletes invited to the High Performance Division (HPD) Elite Athlete Hurdle Seminar during their annual meeting in Las Vegas. The HPD Sprint and Hurdle Seminars have been run since 1982 under the direction of Dr. Ralph Mann, and were created to ensure that the United States dominates the podium at the Olympic and World Championships.

This highly successful, science based program has attracted the best scientific and coaching minds for over 25 years. For the first time, it will be open to coaches at all levels of development. If you want to be exposed to the same information that is available to elite sprint coaches, you can't afford to miss this seminar.

You will be able to attend the main session with the coaches of the top finishers in the 2007 AT&T USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. You will hear Dr. Mann's presentations on the mechanics of hurdling, along with the highly inquisitive, and sometimes combative, questions and discussions of the HPD coaches. In addition, there will be presentations by speakers in the fields of sports medicine, motor learning, and sports psychology; all directly related to hurdle performance.

On the application side, elite coaches including Clyde Hart, Amy Deem, Curtis Frye, Dennis Shaver, and John Smith will be giving presentations on various aspects of the development of hurdle athletes. The highlight of this effort will be  a live, on-track demonstration of how to best teach and improve an athlete's hurdle performance. This session will include Dr. Mann's computer videographics based teaching system, as well as presentations from some of the HPD coaches. Bring your running gear since this will be a true application situation where you will be directly involved.

This is an incredible opportunity that you should not let pass you by. This seminar is being offered to expand our pool of elite pool of coaches and athletes. You will become a better coach with the knowledge that you gain during the event. With the application of the increased knowledge we expect you to one day put your athlete(s) into the top finishers at the USATF National Championships, and earn your trip to the HPD seminar. The NPEP Hurdle Session will be limited to the first 200 coaches that register, so act now and come join us in Las Vegas.
