Level 2 School and Instructor Training Course

The application process for the Level 2 School at Villanova has closed as of June 1, 2010.  The Level 2 School has reached its maximum size. Refunds are not available after June 12, 2010 in order for the school to meet financial obligations from the host university.

2010 Level 2 School and ITC Rates 

Starting and Ending Dates/Times

Packet pickup for first time participants will be held in the lobby of Jackson Hall (#60 on campus map) between 2:00 & 4:00 PM on Saturday, July 10th. The Level II School and Instructor Training Course (ITC) will start promptly at 6:00 PM on Saturday, July 10th. All participants  must be present at this time.

Alumni check-in is from 4:00-5:00 PM on Tuesday, July 13th, with sessions starting on the morning of the 14th.

The program will conclude at approximately 6:00PM on Saturday, July 17th (July 13th for ITC) following student evaluations of the staff and graduation. Attendance at the closing session is mandatory in order to receive a Level II certificate. Please be advised that you should not purchase a plane ticket until after you are notified of acceptance into the school. The room and board package does include housing on Saturday, July 17th.

Departure Time

All Level 2 participants must check out of their rooms before 10:00 AM on Sunday, July 18h (ITC -Wednesday, July 14th). The Level 2 School concludes by 6:00 PM on July 17th (ITC-July 13th). Participants may depart anytime after that. Housing for July 17th (ITC-13th) is included in the room and board package. Please note that departure prior to the closing session will result in the forfeiture of your Level 2 certificate.

Air Travel

Philadelphia International Airport is serviced by all major airlines.

Ground Transportation From Airport

The least expensive option is the train. Ask the attendant at the airport baggage counter to direct you to the train station. Purchase a combination ticket to the Villanova Station. All trains (including the SEPTA's Regional Rail Line, R1 (Airport Line) go to the 30th Street Station in Philadelphia. At 30th Street, change trains and board the SEPTA's Regional Rail Line, R5 (Paoli Local) train to Villanova Station - directly on campus.

Classes and Attendance

Classes will be held in various lecture halls on the Villanova campus. 100% attendance is mandatory at all sessions to earn a Level II certificate. Be on time. If commuting, be aware that the Level 2 schedule is rigorous and a commute of more than 30 minutes each day could turn out to be very taxing. Typically, at least ¾ of the Level 2 attendees and all of the staff members stay on campus.

Housing and Meals

Room & board Package for Level 2 participants includes housing from July 10 through 17 (ITC-July13th). Three-meals per day beginning with dinner on 7/10 and concluding with dinner on 7/17 (ITC-July13th). All meals will be served in the Dougherty Dining Hall (#19 on map)
No early check in or late check out of rooms will be permitted.

Room Check In

Check In is part of the general packet pick-up that takes place in Jackson Hall between 2:00 & 4:00 PM. It will not be possible to check into your room prior to 2:00 PM on July 10th. Please keep this in mind when booking your air travel.

Linens

Linens include pillow, pillowcase, sheets, blanket, bath towel, and washcloth. Participants must provide their own toiletries.

Room Key Deposit

A $75 deposit will be required to pick up your room key and meal card. Villanova University charges $75.00 for a lost room key. The deposit can be by VISA card (preferred), cash or check. Deposits will be returned when we receive confirmation that the room key has been turned in.

Internet Access

Wireless is available campus wide free of charge.

Parking

Parking will be available on the Villanova campus free of charge.
