Directions to Rieke Science Center

From I-5:  take SR 512 East and exit at Parkland/Spanaway (Pacific Ave.). Turn south on Pacific Ave., then turn right on 121st St. At the end, turn left on Park Ave, then right on 125th St. At the end of 125th, turn right on Yakima Ave which turns left and becomes 124th St. Please park in the lot just west of Olson Auditorium (on your right). Rieke Science Center is directly north of the auditorium.

Instructors

  • Tyler Wingard In his 6th year as Head Track & Field Coach at Valparaiso Univ. in Indiana, his athletes own 40 School Records and nearly half of the All-Time Top-5 List entries. Before heading to Valpo, he coached 6 National Qualifiers in the Javelin in three years at PLU. Tyler has completed all event groups of the USATF Level 2 program and is the Coaching Education Committee Director of Level 1 Schools.
  • Joel Wingard Immediately following his first retirement, the original Gig Harbor XC/TF Coach was inducted in to the Washington HS Coaches Hall of Fame for both sports. In a coaching career that has spanned nearly 40 years, Joel has established a reputation for building very successful programs based on the principles advocated by the USATF Coaching Education Program: winning, having fun, and developing the individuals potential using athletics as a tool. He is an outstanding motivator and student of the sport who has coached numerous team and individual State Champions in all event areas.
  • Mark Ward Head Coach at Central Kitsap High School since 1992, Mark has coached six State champions in the sprints and hurdles. In 1995 and 1996, Mark was invited to participate as a coach in the USATF Women's Junior Elite Camps at the US Olympic Training Center. Mark is a popular clinician in the NW, speaking at the Pemco All Sport, Best in the West, Hood River Learn by Doing, WSTFCA Convention, and at the PNW Track & Field Clinics.
