Sanction Late Fees:

Per USATF’s Governance Handbook, event directors should apply for a USATF sanction at least 30 days in advance of the applicable event.  Late fees may be assessed for any sanction applications received less than 30 days in advance of such event.  The national sanction application late fee structure can be found below.

Application Late fees:
Applications Received 29 days – 16 days prior to event = 10% increase in the sanction fee
Applications Received 15 days – 8 days prior to event = 25% increase in the sanction fee
Applications Received 7 days - 4 days prior to event = 50% increase in the sanction fee
Applications Received 3 days or less prior to event = 100% increase in the sanction fee

Third-Party Insurance Certificate Fees:

USATF does not charge a fee for third-party certificates of insurance with the exception of any late fee that may be assessed.  Late fees may be assessed for any third-party insurance certificate requests received less than 8 days in advance of such event.  The national insurance certificate late fee structure can be found below.

Late fees for Certificate of Insurance Requests:
Requests Received 7 days – 4 days prior to event = $25 fee
Requests Received 3 days or less prior to event = $50 fee

Ancillary Fees:

Cancellations will be permitted until the date of the sanctioned event.  Any cancellations on the day of the event will only be honored if due to inclement weather.  All cancellations are subject to a 10% administrative fee of the total sanction fees initially charged.

The USATF national fee for all sanctioned events that elect to waive USATF liability insurance will be 25% of the regular sanction fee, not to exceed a total charge of $1,000.

Developmental meets (youth events within its first or second year of occurrence) may seek a reduced sanction fee by completing and submitting an application to its local Association.  The reduced national fee for a Developmental meet is $25 (the sanction is also subject to a fee from the local Association).  Developmental meets may not charge an entry fee of more than $10 per participant, per event.

A series of events is defined as a series of three (3) or more like events (same events being contested) that will be held at the same location on different dates, all within a six (6) month period of each other.  Series events may not exceed a total of 250 participants.  In the event of a series, these events may apply for a single sanction as a series (in order to reduce paperwork for the event director).  The price of the sanction will be determined based on the total number of participants in all events within the series.
