Events Being Contested
Athletes who meet the eligibility requirements will select themselves onto Team USA for the NACAC Cross Country Championships via descending order of finish in the relevant event at the 2011 USA Cross Country Championships (hereafter known as the "selection event")
All athletes wishing to compete in the NACAC Cross Country Championships MUST report to National Team Processing with a U.S. passport valid through December 31, 2011. ATHLETES MUST STATE THEIR INTENT TO PARTICIPATE AT THE NACAC CHAMPIONSHIPS AT TEAM PROCESSING DURING THE 2011 USA CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS and complete all required USA National Team Processing forms. If no statement of intent is made during team processing on February 5, 2011, then the alternate will be offered the position. See the NACAC Cross Country
Team Size: Team USA will field a team of up to five (5) athletes in the senior men's race, the senior women's, junior men's, and junior women's races.
Alternates: Alternates will select themselves following the above procedures and be named to the team if a drop-out occurs prior to a final date set by the Cross Country Council chair in consultation with the National Office. If a drop-out occurs after 5:00 p.m. February 19, 2011, the USATF Cross Country Council, in consultation with the National Office, is not limited to finish order from the selection meet to name alternates but may do so based on criteria other than order of finish at the selection event.
Alteration: USATF reserves the right, based on consultation with the USOC and the State Department, to alter the conditions of travel for this team trip, or to cancel the trip if conditions in the host country warrant.
