Dave McGovern and Teresa Vaill each posted commanding victories Sunday at the 2010 USA Track & Field 30 Kilometer Race Walk Championships at Rockland Lake State Park in Valley Cottage, New York.

McGovern completed the course in 2 hours 39 minutes 23 seconds in easily winning the men's race. McGovern, who also won the overall men's masters competition, set a pending U.S. 25 km M45-49 age group record with his performance.

Finishing as the men's overall runner-up was Chris Schmid, who strolled across the finish line in 2:48:04. Schmid finished first in the M60-64 masters division and set pending U.S. records in that age group at 25 km and 30 km.
Mark Green finished third overall in winning the M50-54 age group in 2:48:25, and Leon Jasionowski captured the M65-69 division with his overall fourth-place finish in 2:57:55. Also winning a U.S. Masters national title was Bill Reed, who captured the M55-59 age group with his overall 7th place finish in 3:22:36.

In one other men's performance of note, John Starr placed tenth overall in winning the M80-84 division in 3:53:18, and along the way set pending U.S. masters records at 25 km and 30 km.

2004 Olympian Teresa Vaill won the 2010 USA One-Hour Race Walk title on October 3 in Waltham, Mass., and was the overall winner again Sunday in easily capturing the women's 2010 USA 30 km crown.

Vaill crossed the finish line in 2:31:30 in posting the fastest time of the day by anyone. While en route to the finish line Vaill posted pending 25 km and 30 km U.S. records in the W45-59 masters age group.

Maria Michta finished as the runner-up in the women's race in 2:39:35, with Solomiya Login finishing third in 2:44:51 and Rebecca Benjamin placing fourth in 3:09:26. Debbie Topham finished fifth overall and won the W55-59 masters age group with her time of 3:15:54. Other masters winners included Darlene Bucklund (W65 - 3:42:52) and Maryanne Harvey (W50 - 4:08:04)
