Spectator Information

Transportation and Parking
There is NO spectator parking at the race Agriculture Farm Park. Parking will be strictly controlled with both police and volunteer traffic marshals without exception. To accommodate both the runners and spectators all participants will be bused in either from the Rio complex on the west side of I-270 in Gaithersburg (where many of the runners will be staying at the hotels there), or from the nearly unlimited parking at the Shady Grove Metro complex at Redland Road and 355. Shuttles will offer services to accommodate handicapped individuals. Buses will both depart and arrive at a 5 to 10 minute interval in the east side parking lot of Shady Gove Metro. It is a 3.5 mile transit from Shady Grove Metro to the Agriculture Farm Park along Redland Road. Shuttle buses will depart the Rio hotel complex every 15 minutes for the 6 mile trip from there to the race venue. Using the Metro rail Red Line is a good way to reach Shady Grove Metro where the buses will be waiting in the east parking lot for easy transport to the venue site. Buses will run from both locations from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm on Saturday February 7th.

Spectator Fee
There will be a spectator fee of $10 for adults and $5 for students which include admission to the event and transportation. Transportation and entry to the event will be free to all runners, volunteers, race officials.

Concessions and Amenities at the race site
There will be sandwiches, sodas, and hot drinks for sale at the race site. Standard outdoor toilets are provided. There will be one large heated tent at the finish line. Souvenir race clothing will be available for purchase.

Weather Conditions
Please be prepared for less than ideal weather conditions. The time of year makes weather conditions unpredictable so all attendees including runners, volunteers, and spectators, should take care to dress for the elements. There are some areas set up for athletes to take shelter prior to the race however these are limited to race participants. To prevent hypothermia, wearing several layers of clothing, and especially hats, gloves are recommended. Medical staff will be onsite to assist with any weather related issues. Hot drinks will be available for purchase from the concession area for attendees.
