“Going into the race I had a set pace to try and get. But I lost that very quickly and I ended up just completely focusing on who was in front of me and just trying to reel her in.
 
On running her first 5k and winning at Hayward Field:
“It was really nice. About halfway through the race I just realized that I running on the most famous track in America. It’s amazing. The crowd claps for everyone in the race and someone’s always cheering your name even though they don’t know you. It’s really nice.”
