On his winning race:
“When I started off my hamstring kind of gave me a problem and I didn’t come out as hard as I wanted to and I noticed the other guys were making separation from me but I was still in the pack so I moved up at about the 200 and coming out of the curve I saw Joey Hughes had turned it up to another gear so I knew it was my time to make another move. I was only thinking about the finish line so I just kept on tucking my head and driving.
 
On his strategy going into the race:
“I knew I had lane seven in the prelims and what it took out there but I had a good lane in the final so I could see everyone and how they started.”
