"I get really nervous competing in Boston. I don’t know why but it’s probably a good thing because I jump the American record. Heading into today’s meet I had only thought about the win and had not focused at all on any record, just about the win. As the competition moved along, I began to feel a little bit better. In the week leading up to this I had one particularly good session on a short runway where I was able to work on some technical stuff which gave me a lot of confidence. I’m excited to get back and to resume the training. The first jump (at 4.86m) I failed on altogether. The second and third felt like it could have been there but I just didn’t figure the technical stuff out. I entered the competition at 14-9 and because of the number of jumps I had to take, I may think about entering competitions at a higher height. I’m probably ready to do that."
