Masters Invitational Program - USA Indoor T&F Championships Entry Information

Men and women age 40 and up who are U.S. citizens may apply to compete in the masters men's 1500m or masters women's 400m as part of the USATF Masters Invitational Program.

You must be a 2009 USATF member to compete in the meet.  If you do not have a 2009 membership, please complete a membership application first.  You must also be a U.S. citizen and meet the qualifying standards. No more than two athletes from any one club will be selected.

Qualifying Standards

To apply for entry into masters invitational events, you must have met the following standards during the 2008 or 2009 seasons.

* Up to two alternates will also be selected; no more than 2 athletes can represent the same club.

Application Deadline and Entry Fee

The application deadline is February 16, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. PT.  The entry fee is $25 (athletes not selected to compete will be refunded 50% of the fee).

Application Process

  • Athletes interested in competing must submit an entry with the $25 entry fee before the entry deadline (February 16 at 5:00 p.m. ET).
  • Completion of an Application Form does NOT mean an athlete is entered in the meet.  USATF will review the entries and, based on qualifying marks in rank order, select the athletes who may compete in the invitational events
  • Athletes not selected to compete will be refunded 50% of the entry fee.
  • Athletes do not need to declare themselves through the elite athlete process.
  • There will be no travel money available to athletes for this event.
