Amidst his studying for a masters degree and preparing to be a father, Adam Nelson won the shot put at the 2008 AT&T USA Indoor Track & Field Championships with a throw of 21.51m/70’-07. Scoring a total of 1,265 total points, Nelson captured the Visa Champion title.

Demonstrating her astounding foot speed, Lolo Jones won the 60m hurdles at the 2008 AT&T USA Indoor Track & Field Championships. Finishing in 7.88 seconds, Jones also claimed victory in the race for the Visa Champion with a total of 1,194 points.

Winning his second consecutive Outdoor Visa Champion title, Tyson Gay continued to excite the World in the 2008 Visa Championship Series. Gay started off strongly winning both the 100m and 200m at the Adidas Track Classic. Gay broke the American record in the 100m, running 9.77 seconds. He also ran the fastest wind aided 100m time, running 9.68 seconds. His first place finish at the trials solidified his Visa Champion title and qualified him for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Jenn Stuczynski started off the season with a bang, jumping 16 feet ¾ inches and setting the American record in the pole vault at the 2008 Adidas Track Classic. Stuczynski further proved her dominance by braking her own American record and jumping 16 feet 1 ¾ inches at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials. Taking pole-vault to new heights, she earned the Outdoor Visa Champion title and her spot on the 2008 Beijing Olympic Team.

Christian Cantwell, the 2007 #2 world-ranked shot putter with the farthest throw in the world that year, easily won the men's Visa Championship. Cantwell cemented his claim to the Visa Champion title on his first toss of 21.72m/71.3.5 at the 2006 AT&T USA Indoor Track & Field Championship, earning a total of 1,224 points.

Shalane Flannigan's 3,000m American Record of 8:33.25 at 2007 Reebok Boston Indoor Games stood the test of time. The 2005 USA Outdoor 5,000m champion claimed the title of Visa Champion with a total of 1,243 points.

Gay solidified his status as the world's dominant sprinter by winning the AT&T men's 200 meters in the second-fastest time in history (to date) at the 2007 AT&T USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Gay had led the race for the men's Visa Championship since the first meet and maintained his lead throughout the season, earning a total of 1,288 points.

Two years after giving birth to a daughter, Tiffany Williams put her name atop the 2007 women's 400m hurdles world list. At the 2007 AT&T USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, she lead the race from early on and won in a personal-best time of 53.28. Williams' performance was worth 1,227 points, naming her the Visa Champion.

Hurdler Terrence Trammell's world-leading time (to date) in the men's 60-meter hurdles gave him the men's Visa Championship over shot putter Reese Hoffa, the series-long leader. Trammell ran the 60m hurdles in 7.46 to clench the Visa Champion title by six points and a total of 1,223.

The lead changed hands midway through the day, but in the end, sprinter Lisa Barber came back to win the women's Visa Championship at the AT&T USA Indoor Track & Field Championships. Running the 60m in 7.06, Barber earned 1,212 points and overcame Sanya Richards’ total of 1,210 points.

Taking his second consecutive Outdoor Visa Champion title, Clement ran a world-leading time (to date) of 47.39 in the 400m hurdles at the 2006 AT&T USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. His 1,253 point total gave him victory (by 10 points) over Adam Nelson in the fight for Visa Champion.

Not only did Demus set a personal best with her world-leading time (to date) of 53.07 in the 400m hurdles at the 2006 AT&T USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, she also won the $100,000 first prize in the Visa Championship Series. Demus earned a total of 1,234 points.

John, a three-time world outdoor champion and two-time Olympic medalist, secured his Visa Championship with a 21.83m shot put throw at the Indoor Championships. The throw, a meet record, earned Godina 1,230 points on the IAAF scoring table.

Angela, a 28 year-old sprinter with just one professional victory to her credit, came out of nowhere to claim the women's Visa Championship at the Indoor finale. Her world record-tying time of 7.09 seconds gave her 1,203 points putting her just ahead of thrower Erin Gilreath and sprinter Danielle Carruthers.

Kerron took the outdoor season's men's Visa Champion title in impressive style, beating out Justin Gatlin who boasted a duel win of the 100 and 200 meters at the Outdoor Championships in addition to a fine performance at the Nike Prefontaine Classic. Kerron's 400m hurdle time of 47.24 (a personal best) earned him 1261 points and a narrow victory over Gatlin and John Godina at 1253.

Sanya Richards 400m time of 49.28 made her the third fastest American of all time. The Championship-record time gave Sanya 1226 points. Richards run broke a record held since 1997 by Jearl Miles-Clark.
