Team Scoring

Men's and women's masters team championships are in 10-year age divisions: 40+, 50+, 60+, and 70+. Scoring is based on the cumulative finish time of the scoring members of the team. All runners not declared as scoring members will be removed from the order of finish for purposes of team scoring.

Men's 40+ and 50+ will score 5 members (maximum of 8 declared members); men's 60+, 70+, and all women's teams will score 3 members (maximum of 5 declared members).

Team members must be listed on the team entry form. Clubs should monitor the status of entries page to verify the affiliation status of each of its runners.

A runner may compete in a younger division as a team member and still compete as an individual in his/her true age division.

The formation of club teams must meet all of the parameters as noted in Regulations 7 and 8 in the USATF Governance Manual, Section III and the USATF Rules of Competition, specifically Rule 4. This will be strictly enforced. Please note that in Long Distance Running, an athlete who is a non-resident member of an Association is eligible to compete for a team in that Association only if the athlete: (a) resides in an adjoining Association and the Association of residence does not offer the program, or (b) neither the Association of residence nor any Association adjoining the Association of residence offers the program. Note: An athlete with historical membership (at least 3 continuous USATF membership years) in a club is eligible to compete for that club.
