Athlete Quotes - Men's 200m Final
Walter Dix, Olympic Qualifier, First Place
"It was definitely a great meet. They should have the Olympic Trials here every time. I couldn't be more excited about a meet than this one. I have never been in an atmosphere like this."
"It was a great performance. I started to cramp a little at the end, but I finished through and I'm happy I can go back and train and be healthy."

Shawn Crawford, Olympic Qualifier, Second Place
"I messed up on the straight so bad. I got on the podium and we got another chance to go do it in Beijing. I am happy I was able to make the team and I get to go represent the country. Out of eight guys that made it to the final, I am one of the three that get to go."
"I kind of thought I did [win] with the dip but it is kind of hard when somebody comes up and you are side-by-side for the photo finish. I knew I had made the team though. I was happy I made the team. I get another chance to go try to get it in Beijing."
"Everybody caught up to me. I think I was leading coming off. I just got ran down. I have to work on that finish."
"The past four years have been hard but I stayed in it. I really did. There were a lot of trials and tribulations that came out. Anybody could just bow down to the ground and give it up. I couldn't. I had to face adversity and go win. Strive to be the best and work my way back up to the top. I can't let nothing hold me down. It was just a test of patience and diligence. I feel like I am on my way to overcoming. I am almost there. Beijing will be the telltale."
Wallace Spearmon, Olympic Qualifier, Third Place
"I'm very excited. Words can't describe what I feel right now. My family was in the stands and they were all crying. In the first 100 meters, I didn't know where I was, because everyone was on the inside of me and Xavier Carter was gone. I kept looking around me, because I was basically running blind. When we came off the turn everyone was ahead of me and I thought, 'Oh no here I am again. I've got to catch up.' I dug deep to catch everyone and unfortunately for Rodney Martin I caught him. I plan to run more 400's before the Olympics to touch up the last part of my race and to get stronger. This is the first time I've doubled, even though I only ran three rounds of the 100, so I don't know how I'm supposed to feel. All I know is I'm going to Beijing."
