Travel Funded Athletes (Olympic Trials "A" standard) Athletes who have met the Olympic Trials "A" standard will book their own travel to Boston. Prior to booking, please submit your proposed flight schedule and airfare to Michael Pieroni at the B.A.A. (Pieroni@baa.org) for approval. Reservations must be made by March 1, 2008. Reimbursements for air travel will be made upon arrival. Non-Funded Athletes (Olympic Trials "B" standard) Athletes who have met the Olympic Trials "B" standard are responsible for their own air travel. Athletes' travel itineraries should be forwarded to Pieroni@baa.org.
Airport Transportation "A" Qualified Athletes: Athletes who have met the "A" qualifying standard should take a taxi from Logan Airport to the Sheraton Hotel (39 Dalton St., Boston, MA 02199), and bring their receipt to the Executive Conference Center on the fifth floor of the Sheraton for reimbursement. Logan Airport is approximately 7 miles from the Sheraton, and cab fare will be approximately $25.00. The Local Organizing Committee will not be providing shuttle service to/from the airport. "B" Qualified Athletes: Athletes who have met the "B" qualifying standard have the option of taking a taxi or the MBTA from Logan Airport. Logan Airport is approximately 7 miles from the Sheraton, and cab fare will be approximately $25.00. If you are traveling by MBTA, follow the signs to the Airport Shuttle. The Shuttle will take you to the MBTA Blue Line's Airport station, where you can take an inbound train to Government Center. At the top of the escalator in Government Center you will change to an Inbound Green Line train. You can take the B, C, or D trains to Hynes Convention Center or you can take the E train to Prudential. Both are a short walk from the Sheraton Boston Hotel. A map of the area is available on the hotel's website. Parking Athletes who will be driving to Boston can park in the Prudential's or Sheraton's parking garages. Rates as of Jan. 1, 2008 are $38.00 per 24 hours (Prudential) and $42 per 24 hours (Sheraton valet). |
