USOC High Performance Center - Beijing

As the Olympic Games approach, many preparations are taking place to ensure the best possible competitive environment for the USA Track & Field Olympic Team. We understand the critical role personal coaches, personal medical staff, and athlete representatives play in the success of these athletes, and although we cannot provide credential access for the Games as we have at past World Championships, we can help facilitate your access to the USOC's High Performance Center at Beijing Normal University. The High Performance Center will serve as a primary training site for track & field, thus giving you easy access to work with your athletes. All personal coaches, personal medical staff, and athlete representatives are eligible to receive this assistance provided they meet the criteria listed below. The only charge involved in this process is a $40 fee for a required USOC background check.

Important Update: The USOC has notified us that they will be unable to provide visas for personal coaches, personal medical staff, and athlete representatives as originally planned; thus USATF advises that you begin the visa process immediately in order to avoid delays. We recommend the use of Visa Express, a company with which USATF and the USOC has had much success.

Guidelines for receiving the above benefits:

  1. USATF reserves the right to deny the above benefits to any individual who (a) has been convicted of a doping violation; or (b) is under investigation by USADA or other authorities. USATF also may deny benefits to any individual whose actions have indicated unethical patterns of behavior. Personal coaches' benefits are not available to family members unless said member is the coach of record.
  2. No individual who is currently banned or under investigation by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) may be authorized to receive Olympic Games benefits.

Note: Applying for a credential for the USOC High Performance Center through the USOC and USATF does not guarantee entrance into China nor in any way guarantees a credential for the Olympic Games.

In order to apply for access to the USOC High Performance Center, personal coaches, personal medical staff, and athlete representatives must complete the request for application form (see below), pay a $40 application fee, pass a general USOC background check (personal medical staff are required to pass an additional USOC medical background check), complete an online registration, and complete required USOC forms.

Please fax the Request for Application Form (PDF) to USA Track & Field, Attn: Sariyu "Beka" Suggs at 317-261-0514. Once the request form is completed and submitted to USA Track & Field, you will receive directions to complete the application process for access to the High Performance Center via e-mail.

Note: Personal medical staff should submit their request for application form at their earliest convenience, because the USOC will not guarantee that individuals applying after the Olympic Trials will be processed.
