Selection Procedures

Events Being Contested

• Junior Women: 6 km
• Junior Men: 8 km
• Senior Women: 8 km
• Senior Men: 12 km

Eligibility Criteria

• Be a citizen of the United States and meet all other USATF and IAAF eligibility requirements
• Meet one of the IAAF time standards (not yet available--please check back later)
• Junior athletes must be under the age of 20, but at least 16 years of age on December 31, 2007 (born in 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991)

Selection Procedures

Those athletes who meet the eligibility requirements will select themselves by descending order of finish at the 2007 USA Cross Country Championships:

• Up to six (6) athletes will be selected in the Junior Women's 6 km, Junior Men's 8 km, and the Open Women's 8 km. Up to nine (9) athletes will be selected in the Open Men's 12 km.
• By no later than February 15, 2007, athletes must state their intent to participate to the team leaders. If no statement of intent is made, then the alternate will be offered the position.
