Personal Coaches Housing & Credentials

Personal Coaches Policy and Housing & Credential Package

In the event that USA Track & Field has the opportunity to purchase additional housing and credentials at the World Championships, both housing and credentials will be offered to personal coaches of athletes who make the Team. Since the housing/credential package is limited, the following Personal Coaches Policy will be used to identify those who will be offered the housing/credential package. This housing is at the athletes' hotel.

  • Prioritized by the number of athletes who have medaled at an Olympic Games or World Championships
  • Prioritized by the probability of having a medal winner
  • Prioritized by athletes whose marks rank in the top 5 in the World by July 1, 2007
  • Prioritized by need

Personal Coaches Athlete Village Hotel

August 21 - September 2

Athletes should have received information about the housing/credential package offered for personal coaches at Team Sign-up. If you or your coach did not sign up for the housing/credential package and would like to be considered for the package if space is available, please contact Sandy Snow at Sandy.Snow@usatf.org no later than July 10, 2007. Housing/credential packages are available on a first-come, first-served basis per the Personal Coaches Policy.

The housing (3 meals/day included) and credential package for the Athlete Village Hotel will cost $100 per person per day for a twin room or a very limited number of single rooms for $150 per person per day. Cost may fluctuate a little because of the value of the U.S. dollar to the Japanese yen. The personal coach or athlete must provide a credit card number to USA Track & Field when they submit their name for consideration.

USATF will notify coaches no later than July 15 as to whether their request has been honored. Since USATF must pay for the housing regardless of whether a coach shows up once reservations are made, credit cards will be charged by USATF and no refunds will be given unless a replacement coach can be found.

Personal coaches who do not receive housing per the Personal Coaches Policy may request a credential if extras become available. A credential provides access to all practice venues, the team seating area at the competition stadium, the shuttles from the athletes' hotel to practices and to the competition stadium. The cost of a credential with no housing/meals will be $200. If housing becomes available for this group, the cost will be $190 per person per day for a twin room and meals and $250 per person per day for a single with meals.

A coach who receives staff housing/credential, but who is also a personal coach who is eligible by the above criteria, will not be eligible for the extra officials housing/credential. This program is strictly for personal coaches and may not be passed on to anyone else. This credential does not grant access to the warm-up track. USATF will receive transferable passes for entrance to the warm-up track; however the transferable pass does not grant access to the competition stadium. The coach must have a ticket or credential to access the competition stadium.
