National Team Processing
The 2006 USA Cross Country Championships will serve as the national team
selection event for the following international competitions:
- March 11: North America, Central
American, & Caribbean (NACAC) Cross Country Championships will
be conducted at the USA National Training Center in Clermont, FL (near
Orlando). Events include: junior women's 4 km, junior men's 6 km, junior
women's 6 km, senior men's 8 km. Athletes will select themselves by
order of finish at the 2006 USA Cross Country Championships. Athletes
must state their intent to participate at the NACAC Championships during
team processing during the 2006 USA Cross Country Championships and
complete all required USA National Team Processing forms. If no
statement of intent is made to the team leaders by February 22, 2006,
then the alternate will be offered the position.
- April 1-2: IAAF World Cross
Country Championships will be conducted in Fukuoka, Japan. Athletes
planning to qualify for and attend the IAAF World Cross Country
Championships should be available for travel between March 25 - April 3,
2006. All athletes should come to the Championships with a U.S. passport
valid through December 31, 2006. Juniors must bring a copy of their
birth certificate. If you qualify for a team, you will be asked before
you leave the Championships to complete all required USA National Team
Processing forms.

By no later than February 23, 2006, athletes must state their intent to
participate at the 2006 IAAF World Cross Country Championships to the
team leaders. If an athlete is competing at the February 24-26 AT&T
USA Indoor Track & Field Championships with the intent of qualifying
for the 2006 IAAF World Indoor Championships, then that athlete must
declare that fact to the team leaders and state their intent to
participate at the 2006 IAAF World Cross Country Championships to the
team leaders by no later than February 27, 2006. If no statement of
intent is made, then the alternate will be offered the position.
