Facility & Course Details

Plantes Ferry is an 80-acre park with play equipment, hiking trails, and ball fields. Ample parking is available at Plantes Ferry. Restrooms are provided on-site, although changing in these facilities may not be practical. All competitors should arrive on-site ready to race.

Team Tent Area

The team Tent Area will be located north of the Headquarters and Refreshment Area.

Spectator Area

Spectators are encouraged to watch the races from several locations on the course. However, there are areas that will not be accessible to spectators and will be roped off areas as "out of bounds" to spectators. Course Marshals will be at many locations throughout the course making sure that athletes and spectators honor the boundaries that are established.

First Aid

In the event of injuries, First Aid treatment will be available at the meet site in a tent near the finish line area. First Aid will be administered by volunteer health care professionals.

Starting Line

The starting line is located east of the Headquarters and Refreshment Area, approximately 200 yards (Soccer Field 4). The starting line will be the same for each race.

Course Details

The course is 90% grass, 9% dirt trail, and 1% pavement. It is deceivingly difficult with many short hills that will quickly separate the pack. Spikes are allowed on the course. Course maps for each distance (3 km, 4 km, and 5 km) will be available at packet pick-up.

Course Preview

There will be a course preview on Friday, December 8 from 12:00 noon - 4:00 p.m.

Spokane, Washington is located in a part of the country that experiences all four seasons. The average high for December is 35 F. Spokane boasts 260 days of sunshine per year, but also several inches of snow, so come prepared for anything.
