2006 USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships
December 9, 2006
More than 3,000 athletes are expected to journey to Spokane, Washington, in December with a single goal in mind: Junior Olympic gold.
Despite snowy conditions, last year's competition in Smithfield, Rhode Island attracted athletes from around the country who had progressed through USATF's Junior Olympic Cross Country Program. The series of competitions is made up of preliminary meets in many of USATF's 57 local Associations, which then lead to Association Championships, 15 Regional Championships, and ultimately the National Championships where the "best of the best" take the stage. Check the USATF calendar for meet listings.
Competition takes place in five two-year age divisions, from ages 8 & under to age 18.
The Spokane Regional Sports Commission and the USATF Inland Northwest Association are proud hosts of the 2006 USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships.
