Travel Information Airport Information Athletes traveling by air to the Indoor Championships will find it convenient to fly into Logan International Airport (BOS). Logan is approximately 20 minutes from downtown Boston. Airline Discounts USA Track & Field has negotiated airline discounts for the 2006 AT&T USA Indoor Track & Field Championships on American Airlines and United Airlines. Contact the airlines directly to take advantage of these discounts: American Airlines: Call 800-433-1790 and ask for Meeting ID code A7526AX. Discounts: 5% off lowest applicable fare including first class and excluding Q and O. Applicable travel dates are February 19 - March 3, 2006. United Airlines: Call 800-521-4041 and ask for Meeting ID code 539TB. Discounts: 2% off supersaver fares and 5% off mid-range fares. An additional 5% discount will be awarded for reservations booked 30 days prior to the travel. Applicable travel dates are February 19 - March 3, 2006. Airport Shuttles Various shuttle services are available at Logan International Airport. Visit www.massport.com/logan to view shuttle options. Event Shuttle The LOC will operate an event shuttle from the Boston Park Plaza to Reggie Lewis. You must have a credential to access the shuttle. Shuttle schedules will be available at packet pick-up. MBTA Subway Service The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, known as the "T", provides excellent direct service to just about anywhere in the Metropolitan Boston Area. The four main lines, Blue, Green, Red and Orange, all operate throughout the downtown area. A combination of bus and train service is required for travel from Logan International Airport to the downtown hotels. For schedules and maps go to www.mbta.com. The Park Plaza hotel is located just one block from the Arlington stop on the Green Line. Fare is $1.25 per ride. Taxi Service Taxi service is available at Logan International Airport and costs approximately $25-30 to downtown Boston. Car Rental Avis ............................................................... 800-831-2847 Amtrak Service Boston can be reached by train from a number of cities in the United States. Amtrak's Back Bay Station is three blocks from the Park Plaza Hotel. For more information on train travel visit www.amtrak.com. Vaulting Poles Transportation of vaulting poles from the airport to the hotel will be the athlete's responsibility. Vaulting poles may be transported from the Boston Park Plaza Hotel to the Reggie Lewis Center on the event shuttle at designated times. Schedule will be available at packet pick-up. Directions to the Reggie Lewis Center Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center From the Boston Park Plaza: From the hotel, go south on Arlington to Columbus Avenue. Turn Right on Columbus Avenue. Go to Tremont Street (28 South) and turn right. You will need to make a U-turn at the light to get onto Tremont (28 North). The Reggie Lewis Center will be on your left. Total distance is approximately 2 miles. Driving time is 7 minutes, depending on traffic. From Southeast Expressway: Southeast Expressway to Mass. Ave./Roxbury Exit. Exit straight off the ramp and through the lights (Mass. Ave.) onto Melnea Cass Boulevard. Follow to the end and make a left onto Tremont Street. The Reggie Lewis Center is located 1/4 mile on the left. South of Boston: Route 93 North to Southeast Expressway - follow directions above. North of Boston: Route 93 South/Route 1 to Southeast Expressway - follow directions above. West of Boston: Mass. Pike east to last exit (Southeast Expressway) - follow directions above. |
