'06 USA 100 Mile Trail Champion

Andy Jones-Wilkins, Oakland, Calf., won the men's title and Connie Gardner won the women's at the 2006 USA 100 Mile Trail Championships in Huntsville, Texas, on Feb. 4. Hosted by the Rocky Raccoon 100 Mile, it was the first USA Ultra Running Championship of 2006.

Jones-Wilkins was timed in 14:56:55 in winning his first USA title. Second place was claimed by David Bursler of Bear, Del. in 15:57:25 with Herman Richards of Stockton, NJ finishing 3rd with a time of 18:09:10.

Gardner of Medina, Ohio, ran 17:04:00 to outpace Susan Johnston, Waterford, VT, in 17.18:10 and Julie Fingar, Granite Bay, Calf., 18:03:20.
