Travel Planning

You are responsible for making your own arrangements for travel and accommodations. Please arrange to arrive in Bariloche a few days before the event. Please make sure you give your travel itinerary and lodging arrangements and any changes to Team Leader Katy Cotton prior to your departure.

Competition Information

Upon arrival in Bariloche, please contact Team Leader Katy Cotton. This is particularly important for those who have not attended a previous WMA championship. As noted below, there are different rules and procedures and it is important to double-check that you have completed all of the steps to be able to compete.

Rules - This is a large, international meet conducted under IAAF and WMA rules, and many of the rules and procedures are different from local and U.S. national meets. USATF is transmitting your entry to the Local Organizing Committee in Bariloche and does not administer this meet. Information about competition rules can be found on the event website at www.mundial100k-wma.com.ar

Uniforms - All athletes must wear an official USA uniform top during competition. Uniforms are either an authentic National Team Uniform or newly created replica uniform with the same logos and similar colors. For each size and style, the authentic uniform items will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis until the inventory is depleted. After they are depleted, the replica items will be sent. You can see pictures of the uniforms online.

NOTE!!! If you haven't already done so, please send Lorraine Gersitz your singlet size and warm up size. Women can also request a Team USA sports top. Please specify size.

USATF Masters LDR funding is covering the cost of Team USA singlets. If additional funding comes through, warm-ups or sweatshirts will be given to team members. In the meantime, additional uniform tops and other uniform pieces are available to team members at their own expense. See the Masters Athletes section of the USATF website to see what's available. Products sold online are attractively priced and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Other USATF apparel is available in the USATF Online Store.

Competitor's Handbook - Team Leader Katy Cotton will be attending all pre-race technical meetings and will relay all information to the team at the pre-race team meetings. In addition, you will receive a competitor's handbook when you pick up your packet in Bariloche. It contains vital information about the competition (i.e., when and where to check in, transportation information, final competition schedules and sites, etc.). Additional information is available at the meet website.

Code of Conduct - Please read and abide by the Code of Conduct (below).

Team Meetings - There will be Team USA meetings at times and locations TBA. Please attend the meetings. There is generally important last-minute information from the meetings between the Team Leader and WMA and the Local Organizing Committee.

Team Photo - A team photo will be taken at a time and location TBA.

Drug Testing - WMA will conduct drug testing under IAAF rules. There are many over-the-counter medicines that are banned. Additional information is available at www.iaaf.org/antidoping/downloads. If you require approval for use of therapeutic medications, please submit a Therapeutic Use Exemption Application to the United States Anti-Doping Agency at www.usantidoping.org, immediately.

Opening Ceremony - The opening ceremonies will begin with the Flag Parade on Saturday December 10 at 4:00 p.m. Please plan to attend the opening ceremony.
