2005 USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships July 26-31, 2005
Over 6,000 athletes are expected to converge on Indianapolis this July. Entry for this national championship is based on athlete performances at preliminary, Association, and Regional levels of the 2005 USATF Junior Olympic program. Competition age divisions are as follows: Bantam (10 yrs. and under), Midget (11-12 yrs.), Youth (13-14 yrs.), Intermediate (15-16 yrs.) and Young Men/Women (17-18 yrs.). With a seating capacity of over 12,000, the Michael A. Carroll Track & Soccer Stadium has hosted youth and collegiate track & field events, USATF and NCAA Championships, Olympic Trials, and international competition including the Pan American Games. Four world and eight American track and field records have been broken in the stadium since its construction in 1982. America's next generation of track & field stars will be competing throughout the summer and will take center stage at the national championships in Indianapolis.
