Masters Application Information

Men age 50 and up and women age 40 and up who are U.S. citizens may apply to compete in the masters men's 400m or masters women's Mile as part of the USATF Masters Invitational Program. 

You must be a 2005 USATF member to compete in the meet.  If you do not have a 2005 membership, please complete a membership application first.  You must also be a U.S. citizen and meet the qualifying standards.

Qualifying Standards

To apply for entry into masters invitational events, you must have met the following standards during the 2004 or 2005 seasons.

USATF will try to take four athletes from the 50-54 age group and the top athlete from both the 55-59 and 60+ age groups if they meet or exceed the time standard. The race total will be six, and they could come from any combination of the three age groups.

The race will be a scratch race with no age grading used to determine placing.

Application Deadline and Entry Fee

The application deadline is 2/19/05 at 6:00 p.m. PT. If selected (see the "Process" below), you must pay the entry fee of $25, in cash or by check, at packet pick-up.

Application Process

• Athletes interested in competing must submit an Application Form before the entry deadline.
• Completion of an Application Form does NOT mean an athlete is entered in the meet.
• USATF will review the Application Forms and, based on qualifying marks in rank order, select the athletes who may compete in the invitational events.
• Athletes will be notified of their selection and will be expected to pay their entry fee at packet pick-up.
• There will be no travel money available to athletes for this event.
