Bibs printed with numbers are to be worn on the back of the uniform. Bibs printed with the competitor's name must be worn on the front. Bibs may not be folded or altered in any manner. Arena Policy for Clothing It is imperative that we provide a clean environment for this televised event. Therefore, clothing, shoes and athletic gear (etc.) must be kept out of the sight of television cameras. Basket carriers will transport clothes from the track to the Post Event Recovery Area for sprint and hurdle events and from the final staging area for all other running events. Implement Weigh-in All throwing implements must be weighed-in prior to competition. Implements must be presented at the implement check-in area, located trackside in the equipment storage room in the final call area, NO LATER THAN 90 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE START OF THE EVENT. Vaulting Pole Storage Vaulting poles may be stored at the Reggie Lewis Center beginning Thursday, February 26. The Marriott will store poles in the luggage storage room. Transportation of poles from the hotel to the Reggie Lewis Center will be via the Event Shuttle. Athlete Protocol Athletes in all events will follow the same protocol. A summary of this process is outlined below.
Warm-up Facilities The Reggie Lewis Center's gymnasium will serve as the warm-up venue. This venue provides the following:
Athlete Check-in (First Call) All athletes must check in for their event(s) at the clerk's table, located in the Reggie Lewis gymnasium. Uniform and equipment check will take place at this time. Just prior to event start time, athletes will be escorted to the final staging area located trackside. All athletes must check in at the clerk's table according to the schedule below. No check in will be done trackside.
Post-Event Recovery Athletes in all events will be escorted to the post-event recovery area located in turn 2. Field event athletes will be escorted by the official assigned to that event. Clothing baskets will be located in this zone. Athletes selected for drug testing will be notified by a USADA chaperone in the Post-Event Recovery Area. Athletes who leave the field of play without an escort, at the end of their event, must exit through the post-event recovery area and mixed zone. Since this is an event where drug testing is being conducted, athletes should under no circumstances leave the field of play through any exit other than the Post-Event Recovery Area. Mixed Zone Area All athletes will move from the Post-Event Recovery Area to the Mixed Zone. Press, athlete support and USADA have access to this area. Athletes may be requested to go to the Media Interview Area. Please remember that athletes have one (1) hour after signing a doping control notification form to report to the Drug Testing Center located in the first floor locker rooms. Awards Presentation All champions will be honored in a medal ceremony following the conclusion of their event. Winners may be asked to complete a victory lap and toss gift items to the crowd or give an on field interview. Winners will be escorted to the awards area. Athletes who finish in 2nd - 4th place in running events should pick-up their medals at the awards table located near the mixed zone. Athletes who finish in 2nd - 4th place in field events will receive their medals from the Chief Official upon completion of the event. |
