2005 USA Men's Indoor Mile Race Walk Championship February 4, 2005 The last time USATF conducted a mile race walk championship for men, Richard Nixon was President. The term "personal computer" was an oxymoron, and no one had ever heard of Bill Gates. The year was 1973, and Ron Daniel emerged victorious, wearing the colors of the New York Athletic Club, in a time of 6:22.0. Fast-forward to 2005. After more than thirty years, USATF is once again conducting a men's 1 mile race walk championship. The site is none other than the fabled Millrose Games, with the excitement and energy that only screaming New Yorkers in Madison Square Garden can generate. It's a race you won't want to miss! |
