Qualifying Guidelines
- All qualifying performances for running events must be made on a standard
indoor or 400m outdoor track.
- Qualifying marks must be made and verifiable in a competition with at
least five athletes competing in the given event.
- All qualifying marks must be attained on or
after Monday, July 6, 2003 through Wednesday, June 14, 2004.
- Times shown above are Fully Automatic Timing (F.A.T.) times. A manual time may
also be used for qualifying. Qualifying manual times are always the
F.A.T. qualifying time minus the last zero for events 800m and longer, the
F.A.T time minus 0.14 for events 300m-400m, and the F.A.T time minus 0.24
for events 200m and shorter.
- Times submitted in hundredths of a second must be F.A.T. times. Hand times
must be rounded up to the next tenth of a second.
- Composite scores may be computed for combined events using point scores
for the athlete's best performance in each individual event during the
qualifying window.
