Masters Application Information

Men and women age 40 and up may apply to compete in the masters men's 800m or masters women's 800m as part of the USATF Masters Invitational Program. 

You must be a 2004 USATF member to compete in the meet.  If you do not have a 2004 membership, please complete a membership application first.  You must also meet the qualifying standards.

Qualifying Standards

To apply for entry into masters invitational events, you must have met the following standards in 2003 or 2004. Fully automatic timing (F.A.T.) is the only method of timing acceptable for qualifying marks. Relay splits may not be used for qualifying.

Application Deadline and Entry Fee

The application deadline is 7/1/04 at 5:00 p.m. ET. If selected (see the "Process" below), you must pay the entry fee of $25, by check or money order, prior to July 5, 2004 (see "Payment" below).

Application Process

• Athletes interested in competing must submit an Application Form before the entry deadline
• Completion of an Application Form does NOT mean an athlete is entered in the meet
• USATF will review the Application Forms and, based on qualifying marks in rank order, select the athletes who may compete in the invitational events
• Athletes will be notified of their selection and will be expected to pay their entry fee prior to July 5, 2004 (see "Payment" below)

Other Information

An athlete who has qualified for the field and who is unable to compete can give up his/her place to someone on his/her USATF-registered club if that individual has also met the qualifying standard.
