Athlete Information

Uniforms - ALL athletes in all events must wear an official USA uniform top (new WMA rule). Specific uniform information will be mailed to all athletes by USATF. You can also view and order the new uniforms at the National Masters News website.

Competitor's Handbook - You will receive one when you pick up your packet. PLEASE READ IT. It contains vital information about the competition, i.e.: when and where you must declare your intention to compete in your events; when and where to check in; transportation schedules, final competition schedules and sites, etc.

Team Meetings - There will be a USA team meeting at 10:30 a.m. every day of competition at the Roberto Clemente Sports Complex. We will try to have a team manager at each competition venue.

USA Information Board - Check the USA information board at all the Stadiums for notices and/or updates. You can also post notes for the team managers or for each other.

Team Selection -

  • Relays (4x100m and 4x400m) - USATF will set the guidelines for the selection of relays. Relay competitors are selected from among the 100m and 400m competitors in Puerto Rico, with some discretion from the Team Manager. The relays will take place on Sunday, July 13th. There will be a relay meeting - check the USA boards for the date, time and place.
  • Road Race Walk, Marathon, Cross Country - There will be team scoring in each age group.

Protests /Appeals - You can protest any infraction to the rules with the referee. Any appeal of the referee's decision must be by a team manager.

Drug Testing - WMA will conduct drug testing under IAAF rules. There are many over-the-counter medicines that are banned.
