Eligibility Requirements

In addition to correctly entering the meet, the following criteria must be met:

Teams

  • All clubs must be registered with USATF for 2003 by September 15, 2003. Please submit your club application to your local Association office.
  • Teams are composed of 5 athletes of the same sex (mixed male/female teams are not allowed). Each athlete may only run one leg on one team.
  • All relay team members must be 2003 USATF members. Club team entries will not be accepted unless all entrants have valid, current USATF memberships.
  • All athletes entering as part of a club relay team must be affiliated with that club as part of their USATF membership (an athlete's current affiliation can be viewed in his/her membership profile). Athletes wishing to change affiliations can make such a request through their local Association (note that this request must be made by the athlete--see Regulation 7 in the USATF Governance Manual, Section III).
  • The formation of club teams must meet all of the parameters as noted in Regulations 7 and 8 in the USATF Governance Manual, Section III. This will be strictly enforced. National clubs are not eligible to score in the Championships.
  • Team/age division compositions are as follows:
    Open Men all team members are male and 16 yrs. or older
    M40 all team members are male and 40 yrs. or older
    M50 all team members are male and 50 yrs. or older
    M60 all team members are male and 60 yrs. or older
    M70+ all team members are male and 70 yrs. or older
    Open Women all team members are female and 14 yrs. or older
    W40 all team members are female and 40 yrs. or older
    W50 all team members are female and 50 yrs. or older
    W60+ all team members are female and 60 yrs. or older

Open Athletes

  • Only citizens of the United States are eligible to compete in the Championships.
  • Female athletes must be 14 years or older and male athletes must be 16 years or older on the day of competition.
  • All athletes must be 2003 members of USATF in good standing. USATF memberships may be purchased on-line, through your local Association Office, or through the USATF National Headquarters.

Masters Athletes

  • Only citizens of the United States are eligible to compete in the Championships.
  • Athletes must be 40 years or older on the day of competition.
  • All athletes must be 2003 members of USATF in good standing. USATF memberships may be purchased on-line, through your local Association Office, or through the USATF National Headquarters.
