Birmingham, Alabama is host of the 2003 USA Men's Marathon Championship to be held Sat., Feb. 8 in downtown historic Birmingham, as part of Mercedes Marathon weekend. This race features a criterium loop course--the first time a criterium course has been used in a men's national championship or Olympic Trials race in the U.S. Birmingham will host 2004 U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Men's Marathon on the same course, designed by runner Scott Strand of Birmingham who has qualified for both races.
