It was tough (today's race). I just wanted to stay strong through the middle (of the race) and keep it together to the finish. I've never been out of the country before. I am excited to make the (Junior Pan Am) team and go to Barbados.

My goal was to go out and make the (Junior Pan Am) team. I am just coming off an injury and this is my second week back competing. My technique was not too bad, but I had to fight the pain (from previous injury) which was a mental challenge.

I brushed a couple hurdles. I thought I could've won, but mistakes like that get you second and third. I'm happy that I got second.

I am just excited to make the (Junior Pan Am) team. I had a better acceleration into the hurdle than what I've had recently.

I was just trying to run as hard as I could once I took the lead. Most of these guys here (in today's race) have a better kick start than me. I am excited to be here and move on to compete at the Junior Pan Am Games.

I was confident coming in for today's final. This was a good day for competing in a field that was very strong. I knew I had the best time coming into the race. I knew if I ran my best race that I would finish up front. I got off to a great start and was able to maintain my lead throughout the race.

I wanted to run conservative in the finals today. I wanted to hold back and kick-start the last 600 meters of the race to pace myself (for the win).

It was a great (competitive) field out here today. There was a lot of wind on the quarter. I knew I had to fight through and be strong. All of the training and work with my coach has paid off today. I am excited to go down to Barbados.

I came in here yesterday (1st round) feeling good. I was confident and ran at my own race not worrying about anyone else. I just did my own thing by trying to take the leader on the shoulder around 200 meters.

I did not do as well as I wanted today, but I am happy to make the (Junior Pan Am) team. I am excited about the entire experience.

I came in with a lot of pressure being ranked #1 in the 100 meters. I knew if I got off to a great start that no one could beat me. I worked very hard to get here and I'm happy to have an opportunity to be on the team headed to Barbados.

This was a great experience for me (this weekend). I came into the race with the top time from the 1st round and figured I would finish at the top today. It is a blessing to be here and win both of my races.

It feels great. I struggled in the prelims with the headwind. I wanted to focus on the first phase of my jump. I am happy with today's win.

It felt good from the beginning. I knew I had to run hard. I stayed behind close after the first 200 meters. These kind of races brings the best (in my performance).

This was different for me having to alternate every other hurdle. My steps were off, but I am happy with the win.

I didn't get a chance to warm up. I didn't run the way I wanted to, but I won. This year I have two first places. I'm going to take these two gold medals home and put them in front of my silver medals.

There was some great competition out here today. I just came out here and threw as hard as I could throw. I focus on my technique in practice and just do the best I can during competition.

It was perfect conditions out here. I felt like I was lacking leg speed because I was still in 5K mode. It was a pretty good performance and to win is an honor.

The race went out kind of slow. I didn't take the lead until the last mile. I was relying on my kick. In high school, I was always running in the front. I didn't I had a kick until I got to college. I have learned a lot along the way.
