Implements and Vaulting Poles

Facility

Cobb Track & Angell Field is a 400 meter, 9-lane track on both the oval and straight-away, with 48-inch lanes. There is an inside water jump for the steeplechase. The surface is a Martin 1000.

Implement Weigh-In

Implement weigh-in will take place at the track (a schedule for implement weigh-in will be available at packet pick-up). Please be advised that only the international implements will be thrown. In the men's competition, the 2002 IAAF rule change will be in effect; the weights of the implements are: 6 kg shot, 6 kg hammer and the 1.75 kg discus.

Vaulting Pole Storage

Vaulting pole storage will be available at Cobb Track & Angell Field beginning on Wednesday, June 18, 2003. Poles will be transported from the Santa Clara Marriott to Cobb Track & Angell Field. No pole vault transportation will be provided to/from the airport.

PLEASE NOTE: Women will contest the 2,000 meter steeplechase.
