Selection Procedures

Team USA will be selected from rank-order performance lists from the period of January 1, 2002 to February 16, 2003.

The U.S. will field 5-person "A" and "B" teams for all events, if a sufficient number of athletes meet the performance standards (see below). The U.S. will field a smaller "B" team if an insufficient number of athletes have met the performance standards.

In the 50 km event, if fewer than 10 athletes are available from the performance lists, additional team members may be selected from the rank-order finish at the 2003 USA 30 km Championships. However, in order to be named to the team, athletes must have a sub-2:45:00 finishing time for the 30 km.

Pan American Performance Standards
