2003 North American 5K Team Championship
part of the Arturo Barrios 5k & 10k

October 26, 2003
Chula Vista Marina - Chula Vista, CA

The North American 5K Team Championship, in its second year being held in Chula Vista, is a unique competition in which elite national men's and women's teams from the United States, Mexico and Canada vie for the title of fastest country in North America. The competition offers $21,000 in team prize money and another $4000 in individual purse. The team placement will be calculated by using a cross country, low-scoring format.

The United States, second place finishers in 2002, has put together an impressive women's team that will be led by 32-year-old Elva Dryer (Albuquerque) who recently won the USA Women's 10 km Championship in Boston.

The U.S. men's team is led by Henry Dennis (Cincinnati) who recently won the USA Men's 5 km Championship in Providence, R.I.
