Arnie Robinson - Assistant Coach, Jumps/Combined Events

Inducted into National Track & Field Hall of Fame in 2000, Robinson is the 1976 Olympic long jump gold medalist and 1972 Olympic bronze medalist. He brings his expertise to Team USA's jumpers and decathletes in Paris. Robinson won the long jump at the 1972 and 1976 Olympic Trials and was the 1971 Pan American Games long jump champion and 1975 runner-up. The 1970 NCAA long jump champion while at San Diego State University, Robinson represented Team USA of 10 international competitions, and won national long jump titles outdoors. From 1976 to 1978, he was the top-ranked long jumper in the world with a career best of 8.35m/27-4.75 in 1976. He retired from competition after the 1979 season, becoming a successful club and junior college (San Diego Mesa) coach in the San Diego area.
