A two-time national champion in the hammer throw, Edmondson was ranked as high as tenth in the world and was ranked in the top five in the United States from 1990-1996. She now brings her experience to Team USA as a coach. Edmonson was named as an assistant coach of the World Junior Track and Field Championships in France in 1998 and is currently the USATF Women's Olympic Development Hammer Co-Coordinator. She is a past member of USATF's Athlete's Advisory Committee and the USATF Women's Track and Field Executive Committee, and she was awarded the USATF President's Award for her contribution in the promotion of the hammer throw on both the national and international levels. Edmondson has coached in the collegiate and high school levels for more than 10 years, and she presently is the Comprehensive Health Education and HIV Prevention Coordinator for the Connecticut State Department of Education. She also is pursing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. |
